Introducing a new yarn, an oh so soft 3py DK weight merino/ cashmere/ silk blend (75/15/10), this is a pre-lauch of two colourways and will be fully launched in Spring.
The collection will be multi-coloured, variegated, sprinkled - all and any of the things! Perfect for socks (I *love* DK weight socks... is this the reason I decide to stock this yarn, well yes, maybe!) and for the love of dyeing and creating colour. I love the collection of semi-solids, I think you may know by now how much I love colourwork knitting. But there's something about multi-coloured yarn which is so much fun, to dye and to knit.
The two colourways I'm launching today are Rainbow, and Rhubarb and Custard. These are two of my favourite colourways. I absolutely love rainbows, and I absolutely love pink & yellow together!
To choose this new yarn I researched a few options, the reason why I choose this one, not only does it offer an all natural sock base - using silk for strength instead of nylon - but also the reverse stockinette side, the side we more than often wear next to our skin is ohhhh so soft. I trialed the options in socks, wearing a different one on each foot. Purposely forgetting which one was which - suprisingly easy - and every time, the merino/ cashmere/ silk blend won for next to skin comfort.
There's a free Simplingo pattern collection launched for this yarn, more details below.
The bunting pattern is perfect for a gauge swatch or using leftover yarn. I will continue to add to the collection - I have been requested (or you could say told!) that I must write up my sock pattern too! If you have any simple pattern requests, let me know and I'll see what I can do. All Simplingo patterns will always be free.
